Chinese

The Chinese programme closely follows our philosophy of how the subject must incite a love of learning. Through encouragement, we guide and elevate children’s understanding of the language as their oral and composition skills improve.

An Introduction To Our Methodology
By incorporating real-life examples such as history and culture, children would be more inclined to relate the language to these scenarios rather than mixing them up with English. In fact, our students are highly encouraged to practice the language to generate interest and competency. Plus, we make them feel the language by letting their creative minds wander as they write stories and essays, strengthening their writing skills and boosting their confidence.
Building Confidence In Our Students' Spoken Skill

Through fun and engaging in-class activities, our students become more confidence to speak in Chinese (even in front of an audience)! This helps to improve their oral skills, and cultivate their interest in the language. Watch our student present her creative poem dedicated to her mother here!

Cultivating Our Students’ Interest In Their Composition Skill

We encourage our students to express their creativity through writing! Their compositions are regularly being featured in newspapers. This builds their confidence and interest to write more - laying a strong foundation to learn Chinese easily for the long run.

This year , January, I got an Edusave Top 10% award. I also improved a lot in my higher Chinese, all thanks to My Think Tank. I feel vert grateful and happy to 优学堂. During this 5 years, I have improved a lot in my Chinese. Although the teacher is very strict, she is also very humourous. She encourages us to do our best and work hard to achieve good marks. Thank you!
